Been a long time
It has been way too long since I posted something, and sadly,  I still feel unappreciated at work.

I am not even really that excited for the upcoming all-star game.  Very strange indeed.

As They See ‘Em: A Fan’s Travels in the Land of Umpires by Bruce Weber My review rating: 4 of 5 stars I really enjoyed this book. The look at what it takes to work your way up the ladder of umpiring is impressive. Much more needs to be improved on in terms of racial and ethnic equality, but I love to umpire, and this was a joy to read. It also made me realize I would never want...

Violence in Tehran →
This link will take you to a story and a graphic video of an innocent protester dying from a gunshot to the chest.  It is awful to watch, but I am glad I am aware of the senseless violence going on in the world.  Iran needs to be held accountable for the violence it is waging against the protesters on the street.

Too Much Cuddling
So, Shannon and I took the cuddle all the time approach with Myles when it comes to putting him to sleep and handling any kind of wake up in the middle of the night.  We completely realize now how parents can handle a second child differently.  We found this out when we heard a pediatrician speaking to a class about what to do with children early on…the whole time I was making a mental check...

We went to a graduation party last night, and it was a blast.  I am pretty sure that the white culture I come from does not know how to throw parties.  We tend to be way too uptight and reserved when it comes to parties.  This celebratory party was rambunxios and full of great food.  It was really run to be a part of, and the Texas BBQ was amazing.  Myles even ate a bunch of mac n cheese, BBQ...

Thankful but Frustrated
Let me start off by saying that I am thankful and that I feel fortunate for having a job in these tough economic times.   But, I yearn for more of a challenge in my work.  I wish I could get away from the desk and the computer.  I want to be moving, in front of people, socializing, networking, and challenging myself on a daily basis.  I feel held back by this economy and my own apathy.  Now is...

How great is it when you walk up to the cash register expecting to pay a certain price for your item.  But, when the cashier rings it up, it comes up a lot cheaper than you expected.  This took place last night, and there was great rejoicing. $300 Comforter set, marked down to $179.00, rang up for $55.00 Boo Ya!
